In the framework of the meetings, the ASEAN countries have actively discussed and reached some important results include: (i) To implement the outcomes of the Summit and the ASEAN Economic Committee; (ii) To discuss and approve activities of the working group and sub-group; iii) To implement the ASEAN ICT Master Plan 2020 (AIM 2020); iv) To discuss the content and preparation for TELMIN 16; v) Cooperation program of ASEAN and dialogue partners.
Along with the success and results achieved in TELMIN 2015, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam continues the role as Chairman of the TELMIN, TELSOM as well as JWG in 2016, and is responsible for the construction and coordination of ICT cooperation programs within ASEAN in the period 2016-2017 and orientations for implementing the Master Plan for the period 2016-2020.
Also in the framework of the meetings, the final round of ASEAN ICT Awards 2016 (AICTA 2016) was held on August, 22nd, 2016. This is an annual activity passed by TELMIN 2011. Participating the final round of AICTA 2016 were 18 selected products from ASEAN countries. Vietnam has 2 products: Monkey Junior software of Early Start Co.Ltd Company and Customer Insights software of Viettel Group. AICTA 2016’s final results will be announced and awarded at TELMIN 2016, expected to be held in November, 2016, in Brunei.
