Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said that the ICT White Book is an important document that reflects the development of Vietnam’s ICT industry. It is an useful reference for not only management units in formulating policies but also domestic and foreign organisations in seeking opportunities for investment and cooperation in Vietnam’s ICT sector.
Since its first release in 2009, this book has received attention and appreciation of the ICT community in Vietnam and abroad. The 2012 ICT White Book provides information, statistics of ICT industry including ICT infrastructure, IT industry, post, telecommunications, IT application, IT human resource and information security. Especially, statistics on broadcasting and television was updated aiming at the importance of broadcasting and television to ICT development.
Apart from the main purpose of the book which is to provide a realistic and comprehensive paranoma of the current status of the ICT development in Vietnam, the 2012 White Book also focuses on the role of ICT as a critical infrastructure for economic and social development. It analyzes the situation and orientation of development of Viet Nam ICT brand name products and services.
The 2012 White Book is supplemented and updated with reports outlining overall situation of the ICT development in the year to reflect a deeper assessment of the ICT development.
