The exhibition "Vietnam: the Nation and People - View from Sea and Island" in the Czech Republic

On July 12, at the Republic Square in Prague (Czech Republic), the Ministry of Information and Communications in cooperation with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic, District 1 of Prague organized the photo and documentary exhibition "Vietnam: the Nation and People – View from Sea and Island". Attending the opening ceremony was Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao.

The exhibition introduces the image of Vietnam in general and the sea and island of Vietnam in particular, contributing to promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. This is the first sea and island exhibition organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in the Czech Republic and abroad.

According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao, the  exhibition was a chance for the Czech Republic and the Vietnamese community to know more about Vietnam - a "sea nation", with the environment and landscape of the sea, beautiful islands rich of marine resources, especially the long history of discovering, establishing, exercising the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

With two themes: The Sea - The Living Space of the Vietnamese Community and Vietnam's Sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly Islands, the exhibition introduces images and information on the environment and marine resources, islands, activities of exploiting and preserving marine and island environment, developing sea and island tourism, the marine life and culture of coastal communities.
 
In addition, the exhibition also introduces the image of Vietnam - the country, people through a collection of pictures recording the wild and simple beauty of the natural landscape and the lively life of people throughout the country.
 
Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan stressed the importance of the exhibition in fostering the Vietnam-Czech Republic friendship. The event is part of the Vietnamese Embassy’ activities to introduce the nation and people of Vietnam to  foreign friends in the Czech Republic, he said.
 
Czech Minister of Culture Anna Malouskova highlighted the cultural cooperation between the two countries over the years, expressing her hope that the exhibition would deepen the Czech people’s understanding of Vietnam, thus strengthening relations between the two nations.
 
The exhibition’s opening hours from 10h00 to 21:30, from 12-14 July 2017 (local time).
 
After the exhibition, the Ministry of Information and Communication will handover all photos and materials displayed to the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic for information and propaganda.
