Speaking at the session, Minister Dung said VNPT has strictly followed the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister on restructuring and selling shares worth a total of VND2 trillion (approximately US$88 million).

In particular, the PM praised the group for its internal solidarity, while no complaints or petition were denounced.

In addition, VNPT has made great contributions to the building of information technology (IT) infrastructure, the establishment of e-government, the promotion of administrative reform, as well as helping localities to build smart cities.

Minister Dung also conveyed the PM's instruction to VNPT on a number of issues related to continued development of mobile telecommunication networks, transmission of e-documents and integration of online public services, including remote healthcare, education and transport management.

The group was also asked to improve and expand the specialised data transmission network of the Party and State to communes, as well as ensure the security of this important network.

More attention should also be paid to accelerating provision of its information and technology products and services, as well as actively contributing to building e-government services.
