Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam hailed VOV for its thorough preparations for starting to broadcast the channel.

He reaffirmed Party and State’s viewpoint on protecting the people’s health, in which ensuring food safety is considered a crucial task.

According to VOV General Director Nguyen The Ky, the channel was made to debut on the occasion of Vietnam Physicians’ Day on February 27 to show gratitude to doctors who have devoted themselves to caring for the people’s health.

The channel will be on the air from 6 AM to 11 PM every day on FM 89MHz. It will initially cover Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Da Nang before being expanded nationwide. However, locales neighbouring the four cities, within a radius of 100 kilometres, will also have access to the channel.

Operating under the slogan “Dedicated to the Vietnamese people’s health,” the channel features assorted programmes providing updates on the latest news while providing instructions and guidelines on healthcare, environmental protection and the best and healthiest food choices.

The audience is also invited to share their experiences and suggest solutions to help producers enrich the channel’s content by sending their feedback to its website vovfm89.vn, its e-mail address at fm89@vovfm89.vn or its hotline at 0944458989.
