Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung met with Director of General Department of Logistics of Myanmar
On August 29, at the headquarters of MIC, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung received General Nyo Saw, Director of General Department of Logistics of Myanmar - Chairman of Myanmar Economic Group.
At the meeting, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung welcomed General Nyo Saw and his delegation to visit and work with the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Vietnam has paid attention to the Myanmar market since 2000. Mytel Company is a joint achievement between the MEC Company and Viettel Group. Mytel (Myanmar) is the largest investment of Viettel abroad so far. This represents the commitment of the Vietnam's Government and Vietnamese enterprises to Myanmar. On behalf of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Acting Minister congratulated Mytel on its initial results. Only after 2 months of operation, it has developed nearly 3 million subscribers.
Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that Vietnam had opened the telecoms market for 20 years, so the legal competitive environment is quite completed. MIC is willing to share experiences in management of radio frequencies, telecommunication and technology with the Ministry of Telecommunications of Myanmar.
Speaking at the meeting, General Nyo Saw expressed his agreement with the views of the Acting Minister on the issues mentioned. Mytel will surely succeed in the Myanmar market. He also stated that Myanmar would make every effort to support Mytel.
At the meeting, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam supported and assisted Viettel Group in investing in Myanmar. Mytel is the pilot project of Vietnam to invest in Myanmar, and would be followed by many Vietnamese enterprises to seek opportunities in this country.
