Vietnam Internet Network Information Center and Coordination Center for TLD RU/PФ sign MoU

On September, 13, in Hanoi, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Coordination Center for TLD RU/PФ (Russia) signed MoU in the fields of information and communications. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam attended and spoke at the signing ceremony. Mr. Andrei Kolesnikov, Director of Coordination Centrer and representatives of MIC functional units also presented at the event.

Coordination Center for TLD RU/PФ (CC for TLD .RU), the management agency for top-level domains and country code .RU and .РФ, is responsible for forming regulations on .RU and .РФ domain name registration, licensing domain registration, and development projects related to improving the application of Russian top-level domains. The important role of the CC for TLD .RU is to ensure stable operation and safety of the domain name registration system and Russia’s structure of the domain name server (DNS).

The cooperation between VNNIC and CC for TLD .RU strengthens cooperation in the field of management and development of Internet resources, Internet safety and security; informs Vietnam’s policies, activities in Internet resources, at the same time, builds a base for specific cooperation in the coming period.
 
The main content of this agreement includes: policies in developing and promoting the use of Internet domain names, Internet statistics, network safety and security as well as applications of top-level/multi-lingual domain names and supports in the development of Internet infrastructure of each country.
 
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam confirmed: the signed MoU had marked an important milestone in the relationship between VNNIC and CC for TLD .RU, created a basis for the planning and implementation of future cooperation between the two organizations, at the same time, contributed to tighten solidarity and cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, which was built and developed on the foundation of friendship between the two countries.
