Minister Nguyen Bac Son visits Japan

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son paid an official visit to Japan from June 26-27 at the invitation of Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Tatsuo Kawabata.


Minister Nguyen Bac Son had a talk with Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Tatsuo Kawabata on June 26. Two ministers exchanged views on each other of their nation’s ICT development and shared experiences in public administrative reform and issues on restructuring of telecom enterprises in Japan.

Minister Nguyen Bac Son highly appreciated Japan’s assistance to Vietnam in ICT sector, particularly in Japanese- funded ODA projects, such as rural telecom, Internet community and the North-South submarine fiber optic cable line.


Two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation in information security, IT application, experience sharing in restructuring telecom enterprises and create favorable conditions for two countries’ businesses to operate. Both sides also pledged to support each other of their countries’ nominations as members of UPU Postal Operations Council.

Minister Nguyen Bac Son also visited and worked with such Japanese companies as Docomo NTT, Nissho Electronics and Tokyo Panasonic center. These Japanese ICT companies are promoting cooperative activities with Vietnamese ones in the fields of consulting, technology transferring and service exploiting.
