International Conference on domain name dispute resolutions and intellectual property
On October, 15th, 2015, in Hanoi, Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) organized the International Conference on domain name dispute resolutions and intellectual property. Addressing the opening, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai said, as the state management authority in the field of IT, telecommunication, MIC considered ICT is the method to achieve objectives of the millennium, meet requirements of the information society, promote the economic development and ensure the national sovereignty and security of cyberspace.
In recent years, MIC has developed strategies and appropriate plans to promote the development of information technology, telecommunications, internet and has made certain achievements. Deputy Minister Pham Hong Hai also said, in the future, MIC would continue to develop policies and regulations on the Internet, especially in resolving complaints and disputes over the “.vn” domain name to ensure compliance with international practices, social and economic development of Vietnam and enhance transparency on the legislation on telecommunications, IT, in general and provisions of the internet domain names, in particular.
