This competition has been held for three consecutive years, since 2020 by the MIC.

It is an official award of the ICT industry to recognize enterprises with digital products designed, developed and produced in Vietnam that provide solutions to pressing issues currently facing the country.

It aims to honor excellent digital technology products with great practical value recognized in the development of e-government, digital economy and society in the country.

Businesses will compete across four categories, namely digital products for digital government, digital economy, digital society, and potential digital products. With regard to potential digital products, this category will only be applicable to small and medium-sized enterprises or creative start-ups.

Gold, silver, and bronze awards will be named in each category, in addition to a list of the Top 10 products.

To be eligible for the awards, products must satisfy two major criteria: they are both designed and created in Vietnam, and they have an impact on the development of the country’s digital economy, digital government, and digital society.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long said that the MIC will help winning products gain access to a broader market, adding that this activity also contributes to supporting and promoting “Make in Vietnam” digital products to a large number of people and businesses.

“Eligible nominees are Vietnamese or foreign-invested enterprises whose at least 51% of stake is owned by Vietnamese investors. They will be awarded in four categories, including: Excellent digital products for digital government; Excellent digital products for the digital economy; Excellent digital products for digital society; Potential digital products,” he said.

"Many award-winning products have made important contributions to the digital transformation of government agencies, businesses and people. Therefore, many products have been widely applied. There are products that have contributed to changing lives in many remote villages, difficulties that we previously thought would take a long time to solve," the Deputy Minister added.

The winning products will also be considered for inclusion on the list of IT products and services prioritized for investing, hiring and purchasing by state agencies and the list of potential projects calling for investment.

The organising board will receive applications online at giaithuong.makeinvietnam.mic.gov.vn from June 22 to September 22. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place this December.
