K + needs to increase production of Vietnamese programs

On December 9, 2019, in Hanoi, Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung received Mr. Jacques du Puy, Senior Vice President of Canal + Group, President and CEO of Canal + International.

At the meeting, Mr. Jacques du Puy briefly introduced the operation of K + in Vietnam. K + currently provides television with equal quality on all platforms to more than 1 million Vietnamese subscribers. K + is also investing heavily in Vietnam and strictly compliances Vietnamese laws. At the same time Canal + strongly believes in the potential development of K + and is committed to long-term investment in Vietnam.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung believes that, in the near future, K + will select suitable Vietnamese investors to co-produce Vietnamese programs in accordance with Vietnamese culture and interests, attracting people at different income levels.
 
The minister also asked the Canal + representative to share international experiences on the management of the television industry, especially in the context that the cross-border television services are growing strongly.
 
Vietnam Digital Satellite Company (also known as K + or VSTV) is the company operating the K + digital satellite television service, a joint venture between Vietnam Television Station VTV and France's Canal + Television Group.
