Book festival launched to commemorate Hung Kings
A book festival dedicated to the Hung Kings and an information technology application on the Hung Kings Temple were launched at the Hung Kings Temple historical relic site in the northern province of Phu Tho on April 6.
The book festival is jointly held by the provincial Department of Information and Communication and Alpha Books as part of the activities to mark the Hung Kings Temple Festival 2019 scheduled for April 21-25, 2019.
This is the third year the book festival has been held in the outdoor space to help local residents and visitors have a better understanding about national culture and history, particularly the Hung Kings dynasty.
The festival features 10 pavilions showcasing more than 100,000 books of various genres. The organising board also calls for and receives book donations to present to schools in remote areas in the province.
An IT application for smart phones on the Hung Kings Temple was launched at the book festival which provides all necessary information on the historical values and cultural characteristics of the Hung Kings dynasty.
The application also provides guidance on tourist attractions, ways to move in the Hung Kings Temple area as well as ritual services to practice the worship of Hung Kings, among others.
The festival will run until April 15.
