Deputy Minister Phan Tam met Deputy Minister of Commerce of the US

On December 5, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister Phan Tam met and worked with the delegation of the US Ministry of Commerce headed by Deputy Minister Ian Steff.

 At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Ian Steff and the delegation to visit and work in Vietnam to promote bilateral trade relations between Vietnam and the United States.

Deputy Minister Phan Tam and Deputy Minister Ian Steff exchanged the two countries' cooperation in: digital economy, developing 5G network, connection, smart cities, infrastructure development and opportunities for US businesses investing in infrastructure development in Vietnam, as well as solutions to expand cooperation between the two countries in the future.
 
Vietnamese and US partners have had practical cooperation in the recent years. Deputy Minister Phan Tam hoped that Deputy Minister Ian Steff would continue to support the effective cooperation in the coming time. As the managing authority, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam is always willing to listen to opinions from managers, businesses and investors to facilitate the operation of these companies in Vietnam.
 
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Commerce praised Vietnam's policies and efforts to build the investment environment for foreign investors. He also expressed his hope that in the near future, MIC would actively accelerate the 5G licensing; support activities of enterprises in Vietnam; creat favorable conditions for US investors in particular and foreign investors in general to operate in Vietnam.
