Russia triumphs at global-scale cyber security competition

The LC1BC team from Russia has won the global-scale cyber security competition, Whitehat Grand Prix 2018.

The awards ceremony was held at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on November 1.

Themed ‘Legends of Vietnam’, the event attracted 720 competitors from 79 countries and territories around the world, including 126 from Vietnam.

The second runner-up was the coconutCoffee team from the Republic of Korea (RoK), followed by p4teram from Poland.
 
Three Vietnamese teams, namely Injoker10K, ACEBEAR and r3sOL, ranked fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.
 
The coconutCoffee team from the RoK; dcua from Ukraina; and pwndevils and perfectblue from the US also competed in the final round.
 
Addressing the awards ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that Vietnam’s responsibility was to join hands with other countries in the world in making the internet safer, helping the world to become more prosperous.
 
The event was a useful playground for Vietnamese students and technicians in the field of cyber security to meet and exchange experience with international friends.
 
The WhiteHat Grand Prix -Global Challenge was launched on a national level in 2014 by WhiteHatVN.com, Vietnam’s leading cyber security forum.
