Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung receives Australian Ambassador to Vietnam

On September 19, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung had a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick.

At the meeting, Ambassador Craig Chittick expressed his pleasure to witness the close and effective cooperation between the two governments, universities and businesses. At present, some of Australia's leading universities are collaborating with Vietnamese universities in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of them. Leading ICT companies in Vietnam are also involved in this research through providing scholarships. The Australian government has decided to support the Vietnamese government in research and innovation.

Speaking at the meeting, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung informed that the Government of Vietnam was focusing on developing technology companies to keep up with the 4.0 technology revolution and the digital conversion process happening in the world. In addition, Vietnam also focuses on areas such as information security, digital transformation, broadband infrastructure (fixed and mobile).
 
The Acting Minister expressed his expectation that Australia would support Vietnam in training IT human resources and information security.
 
Ambassador Craig Chittick believes that the Australian Government and ICT universities are ready to cooperate and support the Vietnamese side in the mentioned areas.
 
* On the same day, Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung received representatives of the University of Technology Sydney (Australia) headed by Professor Attila Brungs – President of UTS.
