Deputy Minister Phan Tam receives the Delegation of Japan International Cooperation Agency
On October 5, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam met with the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) headed by Mr. Ide Hiroyuki, JICA Senior Advisor.
At the meeting, Mr. Ide Hiroyuki reported to the Deputy Minister about the survey plan of this mission to prepare for the implementation of the technical assistance project "Enhance knowledge and technique on information security and law enforcement in information security in Vietnam".
According to the report, the project was approved by the Government of Japan and funded by non-refundable ODA. The project is expected to be implemented in three years, starting from 2017 in the central area of North, Central and South of Vietnam.
The objective of the project is to train policy-makers, technical experts in the field of information security for the Ministry of Information and Communication and some localities; To build and perfect the coordination mechanism between state agencies and enterprises and use resources from the business community to ensure information safety; Implement information dissemination and awareness, especially for central government officials, based on updating the latest trends in information security; Enhance the ability to handle attacks from cyberspace on critical national information infrastructures; Develop standards and information safety testing laboratories.
Deputy Minister Phan Tam highly appreciated the results of the cooperation between JICA experts and Vietnamese partners in the field of information security. The Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Information and Communication supported the development of the project and would create favorable conditions for its implement as well as a favorable investment environment to encourage JICA to expand more training activities, exchange knowledge for Vietnamese experts on information security.
