HCM City’s Book Street sales hit $840,000 in first six months
Book Street in HCM City recorded sales of VNĐ19.07 billion (US$840,000) for the first six months, an increase of 27 per cent compared to the same period last year, the Street Book Co Ltd said.
HCM City’s Book Street is located on Nguyen Van Bình Street in District 1.
During the period, nearly 300,000 books were sold, a rise of 25 per cent against the first half of last year, while the number of visitors rose to an estimated 6,000 – 10,000 at weekends.
Book Street, on Nguyen Van Bình Street, is home to 20 small shops, including book stalls and coffees. It offers variety of genres, with literature and children’s books the bestsellers.
The street is downtown in District 1, next to the Central Post Office and Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral.
