MIC organizes a training course on ASEAN and UNESCO

Speaking at the conference, the representative of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications said that the training course was organized within the framework of the ASEAN Festival, which run from July 13-15 in Hanoi hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications on the occasion of 50th anniversary of ASEAN (1967-2017).

 

In order for Vietnamese people to better understand ASEAN, Vietnamese press agencies should have articles on the formation and development of ASEAN as well as deepen understanding of ASEAN member countries. At the same time, people should also be provided with information on the future and vision of ASEAN, 5-year, 10-year plans, etc. Integration into ASEAN alongside opportunities also presents many challenges for Vietnamese businesses and workers. Press agencies need to have analytical insights on these opportunities and challenges.

 

At the course, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held important speeches on issues such as the ASEAN Economic Community and incentives on tax, investment, services, transportation; employment opportunities and mutual recognition agreements in eight sectors (accountants, engineers, architects, dentists, doctors, nurses, transport, tourism), rights of migrant workers in ASEAN, cooperation in education, tourism,… in ASEAN agreements.

 

Relating to UNESCO, representatives of Xuan Thuy National Park, the National Commission for the Human and Biosphere Program introduced an overview of world biosphere reserves in Vietnam and the issue of conservation management. At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment introduced the UNESCO World Geological Park (GeoPark) and the establishment of the GeoPark network in Vietnam.
