Minister Truong Minh Tuan received Dr. Timothy Chou

At the reception, Minister Truong Minh Tuan highly appreciated the book "Precision: Principles, Practices and Solutions for the Internet of Things," the book's approach to problem solving and evaluated this was a valuable book with business people and technologists in Vietnam.

 

Large enterprises in Vietnam such as VNPT, FPT, Viettel are building the IoT platform to be the base for all areas such as transportation, health care, agriculture ... Especially, Viettel is focusing on smart transportation and smart cities.

 

At the same time, IoT research and development activities are also being implemented in high-tech zones. Lang Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park has built IoT Labs to support start-up businesses in this area. Hi-tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City has built hi-tech nurseries, while the leading universities in Vietnam are focusing on IoT.

 

In addition, Vietnam is now using IoT to monitor forest fires, environment, water quality in aquaculture, etc.

 

Dr. Timothy Chou said he was impressed with the applications and initial research on IoT in Vietnam. According to Dr. Chou, we now have 3G, 4G, LTE. In the future, there will be so much varieties. He emphasized the importance of network security for IoT devices. In addition, the IoT device generates a lot of data so there needs to be many clouds, many data center systems to store and analyze the data.

 

At the meeting, the Minister also expressed his wish that Dr. Chou would become a bridge connecting IoT technology experts in the world with Vietnam and Vietnam would become the destination of Dr. Chou in the coming years.
