Training workshop on ASEAN and UNESCO

On October, 28, in Hanoi, the MIC organized a training workshop on ASEAN and UNESCO. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung and Ambassador, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister on UNESCO issues, General Secretary of the National Committee for UNESCO Pham Sanh Chau attended and delivered speeches.

Attending the workshop were representatives of Ministries, Departments of Information and Communications of the northern region, correspondents of the central and Hanoi press agencies.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung said that as a standing body of the National Steering Committee on promotion of ASEAN and Information Sub-Committee of the National Committee for UNESCO, MIC organized this training workshop to provide information on the implementation, achievements, opportunities, challenges and prospects of these two contents.

Deputy Minister confirmed journalists, officials in charge of information had important roles in contributing actively to improve awareness of people about ASEAN and UNESCO.
 
At the conference, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Training introduced the activities and communication plans of the Sub-Committee for Culture, Sub-Committee for Natural Science, Sub-Committee for Education of the National Committee of UNESCO.

Concerning the information on the ASEAN Community, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade introduced a presentation of the ASEAN Economic Community. Representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had presentations related to labor and employment, social security, environmental issues, climate change, etc.
