Deputy Minister Phan Tam receives President of Be-Bound and Chairman of IBM Asia Pacific
On September, 8 th , Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam received Mr. Albert Szulman, President of Be-Bound (France) and Mr. Randy Walker, Chairman and CEO of IBM Asia Pacific. Attending the meeting were representatives of MIC’s functional units.

At the meeting, President of Be-Bound, Albert Szulman shared with Deputy Minister Be-Bound’s solutions to help Vietnam’s telecom network increase its coverage and service areas.
Deputy Minister Phan Tam appreciated Be-Bound's solutions. However, Mr Pham Tam also said the operation of telecommunications service providers have to comply with the provisions of the Law of Telecommunications and other related regulations. He thought Be-Bound should organize workshops with Vietnam’s mobile operators to discuss and seek cooperation opportunities. The workshop will clarify Be-Bound’s measures; Data privacy and user information through Be-Bound’s cloud server system; Specific plans and models that Be-Bound scheduled to run in Vietnam, etc.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Phan Tam also received Chairman and CEO of IBM Asia Pacific, Randy Walker. At the meeting, Chairman and CEO of IBM Asia Pacific shared IBM’s development orientations in the coming period, as well as development trends in ICT, introduced IBM’s advanced technologies and solutions, IBM's measures to protect the critical information infrastructure. He also wished to learn about strategic developments and applications of ICT in Vietnam, especially information security services.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam said, the Party and State of Vietnam identified IT as one of the most important driving forces of the economic development, information society to enhance the national competitiveness, speed up the national industrialization and modernization, ensure the rapid and sustainable development of the country. Currently, Vietnam efforts to become an advanced country in IT, focusing on four core areas: infrastructure development, IT industry, human resources and IT applications.
"Currently, the information security is a new challenge issue. In this context, the Law on Cyber Information Security was passed by the National Assembly. Besides, the Government issued decrees concerning the management of information security products and services to gradually complete the legal framework in this area to facilitate the market’s healthy development, and balance national, people and businesses’ interests", Deputy Minister Phan Tam added.
