Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung affirmed Vietnam's IT sector had made great progress contributing to the process of building and developing the country in recent years. However, the application of IT always exists potential risks to information security.

Vietnam still faces many difficulties in ensuring information security. The shortage of human resources as well as information security awareness create the weakness for occurance of incidents.

Deputy Minister hoped participants, who are managing and operating critical information systems, should be pioneers of awareness, management and techniques for prevention against attacks increasingly sophisticated in cyberspace today. Businesses, agencies and units should more fully aware of the need to prepare technical resources to be ready to react to the incident. Information security is a common task of all people in order to ensure the stable development of the country.

Seminar on Enhancing Information Security for critical information systems was participated by over 100 delegates, who are officials responsible for IT, information security from ministries, academies, universities and corporations, state corporations. The workshop was held to provide useful information and experience in protecting information security.

Earlier, from15 to17, August in HCM City, Authority of Information Security and HIDA also jointly held a information security course in critical information systems in Vietnam.
