Around 200 companies and television stations from 15 countries and territories around the world attent the 2016 Vietnam International Exhibition on Film and Television Technology (Telefilm), opened in Hanoi on July 13.

The participating countries and territories include the US, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Singapore and Chinese Taipei, which have highly developed cinema industry and television networks.

Telefilm also draws the participation of local television stations and major names in television technology and television programme producers, such as Cat Tien Sa, BHD, Lasta, Sunrise and Dolphin.
Speaking at the press conference held in Hanoi on July 7, Nguyen Ha Nam from Vietnam Television – the host of the event – said that the companies will bring their latest products, programmes and technologies to the three-day event, thus it will be a significant opportunity for them to seek trade deals and set up co-operation agreements.
It also helps local television stations and producers to update advanced technologies and learn from experiences of their international colleagues in order to improve the professional standards of Vietnam’s cinema and television.
Four seminars will be held during the event, discussing the latest technologies used in television production, the role and influence of social network in the television industry, the building of social media voices and radio in Vietnam and copyright protection.
Since its establishment in 2013, Telefilm has been considered an important event of the television industry in Vietnam. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are selected to alternatively host the annual event.
