In the first 6 months, the telecommunications sector’s revenue be more than 93,000 billion VND

In the first six months of 2016, the revenue of Vietnam’s telecom is estimated at 93,500 billion (excluding the portion of Viettel’s oversea business).

Statistics show that currently there is a shift from 2G to 3G services with the reduction of 2G and 3G subscribers. By the end of June, the number of 2G subscribers was about 84 million and 3G subscribers 38 million. The fixed telephone service continues to fall slowly with the total number of subscribers over 133 million, including 7.3 million fixed-line subscribers. The number of broadband Internet subscribers continues to rise with more than 8.5 million subscribers.

About domain names, the total number of “.vn” domain names is currently 366,000 domain names; in which 40,000 in-Vietnamese ones are newly registered, raising the total number of in-Vietnamese registered domain names to more than 900,000.
 
In the first 5 months of the year, the total value of exported phones and accessories totaled USD 14.25 billion, up 19.1%, equivalent to more than 2.28 billion dollars in compared to the same period of 2015. Electronics, computers and components exported in these 5 months  reached 6.38 billion USD, up 6% over the same period of 2015.
