MIC issues Plan on implementing prevention and fight against corruption for the period 2016 - 2020
On May, 17 th , 2016, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan issued the Plan No. 1563/KH-BTTTT relating to the implementation of the prevention and fight against corruption for the period 2016-2020.
This plan is enacted in order to effectively implement the Anti-Corruption Law, Directives and Resolutions of the Central Committee in preventing and combating corruption; promote the active participation of the press agencies in the National Strategy on Anti-corruption towards 2020; create a change in terms of perception and action of cadres and staffs in the information and communications sector to enhance the staffs’ quality and ability to meet the requirements of assigned tasks; and strengthen the leadership and guidance of committees and governments at all levels in the prevention and fight against corruption contributing to social and political stability, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in the field of Information and Communications.
The Plan focused mainly on these following actions:
To enhance the propaganda and popularization of laws, legal documents on prevention and fight against corruption; to integrate the content of laws, legal documents on prevention and fight against corruption as well as The United Nations Convention against corruption in the annual legal education of Ministry of Information and Communications; to strengthen information and dissemination of laws, legal documents on prevention and fight against corruption in the mass media.
To implement solutions of the National Strategy on Anti-corruption towards 2020, such as: to increase openness and transparency in policy making, implementation of legislation in the field of Information and Communications; to improve the mechanism, policies, regulations, norms and standards in using public resources in the Ministry of Information and Communications; etc.
To improve the quality of public services, to carry out the declaration of assets and income as stipulated in the Decree No. 78/2013/ND-CP dated July, 17th, 2013 of the Government.
To perfect the management mechanism to build a fair, competitive and transparent environment for businesses in the field of information and communication.
To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the inspection and examination in the implementation of laws and legal documents on prevention and fight against corruption to detect corruption to timely handle as prescribed by laws and prevent consequences of corruption.
To promote the role of organizations, unions in prevention and fight against corruption in the Ministry of Information and Communications; to actively participate in the activities of international cooperation and dialogue on the prevention of corruption under the direction of the government and guidance of the Government Inspectorate, etc.
