Top legislator welcomes ASEAN journalists

NA Chairman Hung said generations of Vietnamese journalists have made significant contribution to the national protection and construction cause.

 

He called on ASEAN journalists to maintain and enhance solidarity, friendship, and mutual understanding among ASEAN nations in the context the ASEAN Community will be formed by the end of this year.

 

NA Chairman Hung also asked the regional reporters to accelerate the dissemination of information on ASEAN images and people to the wider world for global peace, prosperity and development.

 

Mr. Benny Antiporda, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Philippines" National Journalism Club, spoke highly of the assistance of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Government to the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association (VJA). He expressed his belief that the VJA, as the acting President of the CAJ, will continue consolidating and enhancing the CAJ footing and prestige in the region and the world.

 

The VJA became a member of the CAJ in July 1995 coinciding with Vietnam"s joining of ASEAN. Friendship and co-operation between the VJA and the CAJ and other member associations have seen deep and effective development. Thanks to exchanges and collaborative activities, each member country has made important contributions to bilateral and multilateral activities./.
