The new company is owned by Apple Operations International (AOI), which is headquartered in Ireland and is a member of the parent company in the US. Its representative in Vietnam is Mr. Gene Daniel Levoff, Director and Vice President of Corporate Law.

According to the registration lodged with the General Department of Taxation, the headquarters of Apple Vietnam is in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with a staff of three.

Under its license the newly-established company is allowed to export, import, and distribute goods and services in information technology and services relating to Apple.

AOI has been registered to act in the fields of designing, manufacturing, and developing mobile products, media devices, personal computers, and digital music players in Ireland and European markets, Bloomberg has reported. Its normal function, however, is in investment and it is one of the least-known businesses of the tech giant.

In August Apple leaders worked with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on the documentation for it to establish the new company in Vietnam.

When the meeting wrapped up it was announced to the media that it did not go as expected, but with the country’s mobile market steadily increasing the official appearance of Apple was widely anticipated. Viettel, FTG, FPT Shop, thegioididong, and Digiworld are authorized importers of Apple products in Vietnam.
