International conference on Vietnam Exported Software Outsourcing and Vietnam-Japan ICT Day 2015

On October, 14th, 2015, in Ho Chi Minh City, the International conference on Vietnam Exported Software Outsourcing and Vietnam-Japan ICT Day 2015 were held. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung attended.

Presentations of Vietnam and Japan’s businesses operating in the ICT sector presented at the Conference show that Vietnam"s ICT industry is attracting more than 400,000 qualified workers in accordance with international standards. The software industry is considered to have great potentials. The number of registered enterprises operating in this sector is about 4,000, with names as: FPT Software, FPT Information System, CMC, TMA, CSC, TVE, Microtec, etc. Many businesses are certified for CMMI.  

Vietnam is ranked among the top 10 countries of most attractive for outsourcing. Currently, Vietnam has planned and formed IT Parks with specific preferential policies, supported the formation of local IT Parks efficiently. Recently, the Government of Vietnam has directed related ministries and agencies develop plans on tax incentives for ICT enterprises. Particularly, Ministry of Information and Communications is preparing the Law on Information Security, this will be the important legal basis for safety information and forming the ICT product and service market in this field.
 
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung shared, MIC considered the cooperation with Japanese partners was an important element for the development of Vietnam"s ICT industry. MIC Vietnam and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan signed a cooperation agreement in the field of ICT and implemented the Action plan in Developing the electronics industry in the framework of cooperation between Vietnam - Japan towards 2020 and vision to 2030, which was approved by Prime Minister.
 
In the software sector, the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan has achieved remarkable results. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung stressed, on this occasion, managers and specialists should exchange and discuss on opportunities, difficulties, challenges as well as necessary solutions in the new situation, when the Agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was adopted (Vietnam and Japan are members), to enhance the cooperation between the two countries’ ICT communities in the coming time.
