Website for Overseas Vietnamese officially launched

Vietnam News Agency co-operated with State Commission on Overseas Vietnamese under Ministry of Foreign Affair and Department of Foreign Information Services under Ministry of Information and Communications to launch website for Overseas Vietnamese at www.vietkieu.info on 8 December, 2010 with the purpose of connecting Vietnamese community worldwide. Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hop attended and pressed the button to officially launch.

It is the largest- ever information project providing overseas Vietnamese adequate information on guidelines and policies of the Party and State and their activities regarding the homeland. It is also a detail database system on overseas Vietnamese in each country.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affair Pham Gia Khiem expressed his delight at the launching of this website with target of serving community and connecting Vietnamese people all over the world. He also believed that the website would meet information demand in all fields of overseas Vietnamese as well as people at home.
 
The Deputy PM also urged News Agencies of foreign information service to continue renewing themselves and provide more specialized pages, items and articles to better contribute to the Party and State’s community mobilization and foreign affairs.
 
This website is divided into different parts for each country, so readers can quickly overview the lives of the overseas Vietnamese community in each specific country. It also provides adequately the State’s legal documents and policies which are divided into different fields such as: nationality, immigration, investment- business, verification of Vietnam origin etc aiming at support readers in searching rapidly. Especially, a list of overseas Vietnamese diplomatic agencies, associations, companies, trade centers or restaurants is being updated in order to make favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to have business co-operations and personal relations.
