As the country relaxed social distancing measures in early October, easier shopping has generated great revenue for retailers. Pham Cong Bang, Sales Director of Vivo Vietnam, told VietNamNet that in October alone, this company sold about 200,000 smartphones. The phone company is currently in the top 3 in Vietnam in terms of sales.

Mobile World has announced that its October revenue reached VND 12 trillion, the highest level so far this year. The two chains The Gioi Di Dong and Dien May Xanh alone accounted for more than VND 10 trillion, an increase of 50% over the same period in 2020 and 60% compared to September 2021.

Smaller retail chains also report good results. CellphoneS said that its sales increased 40% compared to the same period of last year.

Pham Tuan Anh, representative of ShopDunk chain specializing in selling Apple products, said that this chain’s October revenue rose by 38% compared to September. It is expected that November sales will increase by 30-35% compared to that of October.

These retailers' reports are in line with an earlier report by Payoo, a nationally payment connection platform. According Payoo, in the field of phones and electronics, the system recorded a rapid recovery for the group of small stores with a growth rate of nearly double, while that of the large electronics store chains reached 70-90% compared to April and May.

Payoo believes that the demand for purchasing equipment for online learning is one of the big motivations for the rapid recovery of mobile phones and electronic devices.

Mobile World and other retail chains have acknowledged that the launch of iPhone 13 series contributed significantly to October's revenue success. Mobile World announced that it sold 18,000 iPhone 13s in the first 7 days, earning VND500 billion.

The ShopDunk chain said that the increase in its revenue is largely thanks to Apple’s launching of new products from iPhones and iPads to Apple Watches.

"In fact, our revenue might increase even more, but Apple can provide only 70% of the demand," Tuan Anh told ICTnews.

CellphoneS side also faces a shortage of supply of iPhone 13 products. It said that revenue in October-November grew by 30-40% on average. However, due to the heavy influence of the Covid-19 epidemic, this chain predicts that if December continues to maintain a strong growth rate, it will reach 95% of the year plan.
