Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Vinh Bao said that in recent years, the governments and peoples of the two countries had closely coordinated and implemented important cooperation in economy, culture, national defense, security, etc. In particular, the cooperation on information and communication has made remarkable achievements, contributing to the development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
In the field of information, the two countries have actively implemented cooperation commitments between the two countries, enhancing the mutual understanding and special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Post, telecommunications and IT are the areas in which the two sides have carried out experience exchanges on state management and investment to bring these sectors become the key economic sectors of each country and contribute to the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam; Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Laos have continuously coordinated effective implementation of many cooperation programs. In particular, Viet Nam has supported the improvement of the state management capacity of newly established agencies and units in Laos, as well as the development of management policies, human resources, radio frequency, internet domain name, information security, e-government, postal service, etc. The two sides have carried out effectively the frequency coordination in border areas and satellite coordination. Vietnam also highly appreciates the investment environment and the development of information and communication technology in Laos.
Representatives of the two sides affirm the promotion of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and conditions for cooperation programs and activities in the fields of post, telecommunications and IT between the two countries, contributing to the deepening of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
