Minister of Information and Communications officially named

The National Assembly cast secret ballots on Wednesday to officially select Nguyen Manh Hung as Minister of Information and Communications at the proposal of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Earlier in July 2018, the PM has decided to assign Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman cum General Director of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group as Acting Minister of Information and Communications.
 
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, a member of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee (CPVCC), was born in 1962 in the Northern province of Phu Tho, replacing his predecessor Truong Minh Tuan.
 
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung was appointed as Chairman cum General Director of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group on June 14, 2018. He has been working as the General Director of the Group since March 1, 2014.
