At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam expressed his pleasure to receive the Senior Minister of State Janil Puthucheary to visit the Ministry of Information and Communications on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2018 (WEF ASEAN 2018).
At the WEF ASEAN 2018, the Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) have launched a number of initiatives, including "ASEAN - Roam Like Home". Deputy Minister expressed his hope that Singapore would support this initiative of Vietnam to realize it together. Singapore and Vietnam have the same goal of building ASEAN into a community. In addition, Singapore has always been a pioneer in ASEAN and has often launched initiatives at regional forums and conferences.
The Senior Minister of State said Vietnam and Singapore had built and developed long-term cooperation, not only in bilateral relations but also in some international forums. Singapore shares the proposed "ASEAN - Roam Like Home" of Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam and Senior Minister of State Janil Puthucheary shared some views on telecommunication tariffs, information security, 5G, etc.
