Minister Truong Minh Tuan meets the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan

On May 2, in Hanoi, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan had a meeting with the delegation of Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan headed by Deputy Minister Manabu Sakai.

At the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries over the past 40 years. Japan is currently the leading economy partner of Vietnam as well as its largest ODA donor.
 
In the field of ICT, the Minister said that Japan and Vietnam had implemented many effective cooperation activities. MIC is committed to the development of multifaceted cooperation with Japan. Both sides have developed and continuously expanded cooperation programs and projects. In the coming time, cooperative activities have more conditions to develop.
 
The Vietnam-Japan Joint Working Group is established, initially achieve certain results and focus on the issues that the two sides hope to promote as smart city, information security, radio frequency, etc.
 
The Government of Vietnam plans the construction and development of smart cities in Vietnam. Japan has successfully built many smart city projects, so the two sides agree to step up cooperation in this field. Japan will share experiences and support Vietnam in developing a pilot project in the near future.
 
In the field of postal services, the Ministry of Information and Communications expects the Japanese side to regularly exchange experience in equitization of postal companies, management of the postal market and promote cooperation between postal enterprises of the two countries in specific products.
 
In the field of broadcasting, Vietnam and Japan take the initiative in exchanging and developing content cooperation plans, such as cooperation between VTV and NHK; VTV with TBS; HTV with ABC. This is an opportunity to bring Vietnam's television channels to Japan and vice versa to serve and provide information to the people of Vietnam and Japan.
 
At the reception, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan, Mr. Manabu Sakai expressed his wish to further promote the cooperation between the two countries in the field of information and communication. Deputy Minister Manabu Sakai said that the proposals and wishes of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam are also in the plan of cooperation and development in the future of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan. Therefore, he hoped that the two sides would continue to cooperate more in order to exchange information and share experiences in order to effectively implement the tasks, thus deepening the relationship and common benefits of both countries.
