Vietnam-Korea e-Government Cooperation Forum

On March 30, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Korea to organize the Vietnam-Korea e-Government Cooperation Forum. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai delivered the opening remarks. Attending the Forum was Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Lee Hyuk.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Deputy Minister Pham Hong Hai said, the Government of Vietnam always considered the development of e-government as one of the priority tasks associated with the administrative reform to help improving the business environment, national competitiveness, serving the people and businesses better.
The advanced technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, artificial intelligence.... are developing rapidly by the 4.0 industrial revolution, directly affecting production, business, working, communication of people and businesses. This creates opportunities as well challenges so that the Government of Vietnam has to push up IT applications and develop e-Government to meet the requirements based on IT and Internet.
 
Deputy Minister Pham Hong Hai hoped that the Forum would provide useful information for Vietnamese agencies and units in improving policies, developing technical infrastructure, linking IT with administrative reform, developing human resources... to accelerate the development of e-government effectively.
 
At the Forum, the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Korea shared the experiences of e-government development in recent years. The representative of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Korea identified challenges in implementing e-government, including: implementation process; how to maximize the benefits of e-government; solutions to avoid duplication of operations between ministries.
 
While building e-Government, Korea always pays attention to the interests of the people, the connection between the information systems, the database of ministries. In the future, Korea will develop a diversified service system.
 
Also at the forum, the representative of Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam had a speech on the current status and plans for e-government development in Vietnam.
