Conference on "Digital economy and cybersecurity policy of Vietnam"

On March 29, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Digital Media Association and the US Chamber of Commerce jointly organized a conference on "Digital economy and cybersecurity policy in Vietnam". Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Media Association, attended and delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said, the world was undergoing the fourth industrial revolution based on the development of ICT and opening up many opportunities for advanced technology, capacity building and competition in the product chain; creating a great change in service business, innovative entrepreneurship; significantly reducing transaction and transportation cost; creating attractive and potential investment opportunities in the field of digital technology and the Internet.
 
However, Deputy Minister warned that besides great benefits, the achievements of IT, online services as well as applications also posed significant challenges for ensuring information security.
 
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong hoped that participants discussed policies for digital economy development and ensure information security in Vietnam, shared experiences of developed countries in the world. On the basis of reports of the speakers, the scientists and managers should discuss and share in a straightforward manner, clearly their viewpoints, orientations and solutions in accordance with Vietnam's realities.
 
The Digital Media Association would summarize the opinions of the delegates and report to the Government and functional ministries to improve related laws and policies, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong affirmed.
