Minister Truong Minh Tuan meets Cuba Ambassador to Vietnam

On February 1, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Minister Truong Minh Tuan had a meeting with Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Lianys Torres Rivera.

At the meeting, the Minister congratulated Ms. Lianys Torres Rivera as being the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam. At the same time, the Minister expressed his hope that the Ambassador would be a reliable bridge between the two parties and peoples, deepening the relationship between the two countries, especially in information and communications.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan appreciated great achievements Cuba achieved, especially in the process of "updating the economic model". In the field of information and communication, the Minister affirmed that Vietnam and Cuba had cooperated strongly in many aspects.
 
At present, many leading telecommunication and IT operators in Vietnam such as VNPT, FPT, Viettel and Mobifone have been investing in many countries in the world. This is also the strength of Vietnam.
 
According to Minister Truong Minh Tuan, the Minister has directed the Authority of Publishing, Printing and Distribution to translate Cuban books into Vietnamese so that Vietnamese readers can understand more about the country and people of Cuba.
 
The Cuban Ambassador congratulated Viet Nam on its achievements in socio-economic development, including a remarkable contribution from the Information and Communication Sector. The Ambassador agreed that the two sides needed to strengthen cooperation and focus on areas where both sides had strengths, including post, information security, publishing, etc. The Cuban Embassy in Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Information and Communications to concretize these areas in the coming time.
