At the talks, the two Ministers informed each other about the development of the two countries in the fields of post, telecommunications and information technology, exchanged plans to promote cooperation in the above areas in the coming time to match the strategic partnership Vietnam - Thailand.
Minister Truong Minh Tuan highly appreciated Thailand's achievements in developing and becoming a pioneering country in promoting digial society and economy. The Minister proposed Thailand to share its experience in developing a roadmap and plan for social and digital development as well as the organizational model and state management in this field to help Vietnam in improving productivity and efficiency in all areas of socio-economic life.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in supporting start-ups in the field of information and communication technology, network security, postal services. The two sides also agreed to cooperate with each other within e-ASEAN framework, thereby rapidly bringing Vietnam and Thailand become the ASEAN pillars in this area.
Minister Truong Minh Tuan and Minister Pichet Durongkaveroj signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology and digital technology between the Ministry of Information and Communications of S.R. Vietnam and the Ministry Digital Economy and Society of the Kingdom of Thailand in the presence of the Prime Ministers of the two countries.
Also on the occasion of the visit, at the Vietnam-Thailand Economic Forum held on August, 18, the Prime Ministers and Ministers of the two countries witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of post and postal finance between Vietnam Post and Thailand Post.
