Minister Truong Minh Tuan received the President of India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee

On June 12, in Hanoi, the Minister of Information and Communications, President of Vietnam - India Friendship Association Truong Minh Tuan received the Delegation of the Indian - Vietnam Solidarity Committee to the State of West Bengal (India) headed by Chairman Geetesh Sharma.

At the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan welcomed and appreciated the important role of the Indian-Vietnam Solidarity Committee and Chairman Geetesh Sharma, in preserving and developing the union, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan said that Vietnam and India had a traditional friendship. In particular, in recent years, the relationship has been growing strongly.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan affirmed that the Vietnam-India relations had been developing in all fields since the two countries upgraded their relations to the Comprehensive Strategy Partner in 2016. The cooperation in the field of information and communication is contributing to deepening this relationship as well as contributing significantly to the development of each country.
 
At the meeting, the Minister updated the situation of development of the bilateral cooperation relationship between the two countries with many similarities in terms of culture, ideology and religion. The Minister said that the two countries had great potential to promote cooperation activities through increased contact and exchange of information and experience.
 
Chairman Geetesh Sharma expressed his thanks to the Minister and was impressed with the development of Vietnam, especially in the field of information communication. He hoped  that the meeting with the Minister of Information and Communications and upcoming visits between the leaders of the two countries would bring many opportunities to the friendship between the two sides.
 
In the coming time, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-India Friendship Association are expected to carry out many important activities such as cultural exchanges, meetings, 3rd International Yoga Day,…to celebrate the two countries' friendship as well as promote bilateral relations in all areas.
 
On this occasion, Chairman Geetesh Sharma also proposed to MIC to strengthen relations with the peoples through specific programs, such as visits, exchanges of student groups,… to increase knowledge and understanding of friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
