Minister Truong Minh Tuan held talks with Indian Ambassador in Vietnam

On February, 20, 2017, Minister Truong Minh Tuan met and talked with Mr. Parvathaneni Harish - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Indian Ambassador congratulated Minister Truong Minh Tuan became Chairman of the Vietnam – India Friendship Organization. The Ambassador also expressed his wish that: in 2017, the two countries would hold a series of activities on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relation and 10 years of strategic partnerships.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan confirmed he would do his best to promote cooperation between Vietnam and India as Chairman of the Vietnam – India Friendship Organization.
 
The Minister said that the traditional relationship between Vietnam and India, in recent years, especially in the field of Information and Communication, had been strengthened and consolidated. Two documents signed between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Electronics and Technology of India during a visit to Vietnam of Prime Minister of India N.Modi in the year 2016: MoU in ICT and Training Agreement between the Institute of Posts and Telecommunication Technology, Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and Indian counterparts. "This is the legal basis to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of Information and Communication", the Minister stressed.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan introduced to the Ambassador the outline of the development of Vietnam’s post, telecommunications and IT. The Minister added that, during his upcoming working visit to India, there would be many Vietnam’s Telecommunications, IT businesses to exploit business opportunities and cooperation in the Indian market.
 
Concerning activities to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic cooperation between Vietnam and India, the Minister said the MIC would released the Vietnam - India friendship stamp set in July and a unit under the Ministry had developed the documentary film named "Pink Lotus" on the theme of friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and India. Vietnam’s press agencies will also strengthen propaganda about the friendship Vietnam - India during this period.
 
Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish said the Indian side would cooperate closely with Vietnam to release the stamp set. At the same time, he also suggested the MIC propose projects related to the 1 billion USD credit package. The Ambassador also shared that, India’s startups in Telecommunications and IT was also looking for opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners. This is a good opportunity for the two countries' enterprises and businesses to cooperate.
 
Truong Minh Tuan Minister expressed his thanks for sharing and suggestions from the Ambassador. The Minister expressed his desire the Ambassador  would contribute to further development of partnership relations between the two countries.
