Spring Book Street – A destination for book lovers

The 2017 Spring Book Street was officially opened on January 30 (the third day of the first Lunar month), in Le Thach Street and Ly Thai To Flower Garden, Hanoi, attracting many people.

As one of activities to celebrate the 87th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2017), the event also aims to create a cultural space for people to read during Tet holiday, honoring the culture of reading and the reading development movement.

Activities at the event include exhibiting, selling books; introducing new publications, exchanging with writers; introducing the art of calligraphy, coloring and painting for children; and organizing a number of Xuan Tho program, traditional art performances.

The book street also features a spring newspaper stall featuring various press agencies. All money acquired through selling Tet newspaper’s will be donated to purchasing books for libraries in mountainous areas.
