Vietnam - Japan boost cooperation in information security

On May, 10th, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung had a meeting with Mr. Katsuro Nagai, Counselor of Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung exchanged views with Mr. Katsuro Nagai in the formulation of legal documents in the field of information security in Viet Nam. The Law on Internet Information Security has been approved by the National Assembly of Viet Nam in 2015. Deputy Minister affirmed that the international cooperation played a very important role in ensuring information security.

Mr. Nagai Katsuro shared: In 2010, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan signed the cooperation MoU in information security with the Ministry of Information and Communications of Viet Nam. The MoU takes effect until September, 2016. On this occasion, he expressed the wish to continue and extend the MoU with the Ministry of Information and Communications of Viet Nam in the coming time. He also stressed that Japan is ready to cooperate with Viet Nam in the field of information and communications, especially  information security; as well as support Viet Nam in solving difficulties related to information security, such as staff training.
 
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung expressed that the Ministry of Information and Communications of Viet Nam is glad and ready to continue the cooperate with Japan in the field of information security.
