Vietnam – Iran: cooperation and investment opportunities in telecommunications and information technology

In the framework of the visit and State-level talks of President Truong Tan Sang in Iran, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son and Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran, Mahmoud Vaezi had talks about investment and cooperation in the field of telecommunications and information technology.

At the talks, the two Ministers stated determination to promote business cooperation and production in the field of telecommunications and information technology. The immediate objective is to speed up information exchange and negotiations for signing of cooperation, in particular, further strengthen the associated investment in telecommunications services, ICT, ... in the private sector.

Minister Nguyen Bac Son affirmed that " Information communication is very important in the social and economic life. It is the telecommunications infrastructure and information technology. The State of Vietnam encourages the development of telecommunications, information technology, and Vietnam is a country with rapid growth in Southeast Asia. Currently, many Vietnam’s corporations are operating in the field of telecommunications, information technology. Vietnam is also attracting a lot of foreign corporations."  With its open policy, many large enterprises of electronics and telecommunications have invested in Vietnam.

Minister of Information Technology of Iran, Mahmoud Vaezi said that Iran is the largest market in the Middle East. Many companies offering 3G, 4G here are private and business opportunities for Vietnam to participate in the market is very bright. Iran’s government will pay more attention to Vietnam enterprises investing in the Iranian market.

Ending the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son and Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran, Mahmoud Vaezi agreed to exchange, cooperate in bilateral and multilateral forums in the region and the world
