NA approves law on cyber information safety

National Assembly deputies voted to approve the Law on Cyber Information Safety during their plenary session in Hanoi on November 19.

Under the chair of NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, they heard a report on acquiring feedback on the law that was delivered by member of the NA Standing Committee and head of the NA Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung.

The Law on Internet Information Security was approved with a high vote of 85.83 per cent agreed.
 
The law, with eight chapters, 54 articles, is expected to improve the legal basis for ensuring information security and specify national defence and security requirements.
 
The law will address information security on three levels of cyber information violations, cyber information conflicts and cyber warfare.
 
It will take effect from July, 1st, 2016.
