Prime Minster Nguyen Tan Dung delivered the speech at Vinasat-2 launchingOn behalf of the Government, PM Nguyen Tan Dung congratulated the successful launching of Vinasat-2. Prime Minister confirmed that Vinasat-1 and Vinasat-2 projects are of great significance for socio-economic development.
The Government Chief highly appreciated the efforts of MIC, VNPT and foreign partners in implementation of Vinasat-2 project.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung also congratulated Japan in successfully launching satellite JCSAT- 13.

The Vinasat-2, with a design life of 15 years, is produced on the A2100 platform frame. With 24 Ku-band transponders, Vinasat-2 is capable of covering Southeast Asia and some neighboring countries. Vinasat-2, together with Vinasat-1, will help enhance national security for telecommunication network. Vietnam will be able to meet the needs of satellite capacity from now to the year 2020.
Transmission capacity of Vinasat-2 is equivalent to 13,000 voice/Internet/ data channels or 150 TV channels. Vinasat-2 launching aims to the national strategic goal of strengthening telecommunications infrastructure capacity, meet the satellite-based service demand for domestic and regional markets, and using frequency resources and satellite orbits registered by Vietnam at orbital position of 131.8 deg. east.
With Vinasat-1, Vinasat-2 created a system of satellite redundancy and risk capacity, contributing to enhance safety and stability in the process of providing services.
