Vietnam- Japan agree on mutual recognition of IT skill standards

IT skill standards in VITEC’s examinations (Vietnam Training and Examination Center) will be adapted as the equivalent to those applied in Japan by IT Promotion Agency (IPA).

Recently, Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park’s Management Board, IPA and Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) have signed a mutual recognition agreement in IT skill standards between Vietnam and Japan.

Accordingly, IT skill standards applied in examinations such as Fundamental IT Engineers (FE), Applied IT Engineers (AP) and IT Passport (IP) will be equivalent to IPA’s ones in Japan.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Quynh, Deputy Head of Hoa Lac Hi- Tech Park’s Management Board said that the mutual recognition of mentioned above standards will help Viet Nam evaluate the quality of  IT human resource in comparison with other countries in the region and the world.

It is known that more than 10,000 Vietnamese candidates have attended IT examinations at VITEC and over 1,000 of those who were awarded certificates by the Minister of Science and Technology.
