Administrative violations in the field of telecommunication can be punished up to VND 100 million

According to the Decree No. 83/2011/NĐ-CP on sanctions against administrative violations in the field of telecommunication issued by the Prime Minister on September 20, violation of regulations on telecommunication license, resources, managing quality of charge and promotion, telecommunication connection and sharing etc can be punished from VND 50 million- 100 million.

A fine from VND 50 million- 70 million will be applied for organizations, individuals leasing or lending subscriber terminal equipments and telecommunication goods brought to the border aiming to transfer international call flow into Vietnam.

A fine from VND 50 million- 70 million will be applied for telecommunication companies that do not ensure connection quality, control or pause, make it difficult to connect telecommunication networks or pause supply of service to other telecommunication network, not ensure connection timely or transparently.

The Decree also regulates entities that have right to give administrative sanctions in the telecommunication field, namely Inspectors of all sectors, People’s Committee at all levels, Sea Police, Customs, Taxation authority etc.
