Deputy PM attends national forum on development of Vietnamese digital enterprises

 Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the national forum on the development of Vietnamese digital enterprises which took place in Ha Noi on December 8.

Addressing the ceremony, Vu pointed to the need to tackle institutional obstacles, including simplifying regulations and procedures for IT investment projects.

He called for special solutions and fresh breakthroughs in human resource training to reach the goal of having one million IT engineers. 

Digital transformation and IT industry are among decisive factors to achieve socio-economic development goals in the upcoming time, he noted. 

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long said that digital technology industry is a spotlight in Viet Nam's economy. 

The revenue of the entire digital technology industry is estimated at US$148 billion. Viet Nam now has 70,000 digital technology firms, already achieving the target set for 2025.

The country has gained US$136 billion from exporting digital technology products. 

This year's forum attracted the participation of about 1,000 delegates, including experts, and representatives from domestic and foreign technology enterprises, start-ups in the field of technology in Viet Nam.

The participants discussed the development orientations of the digital technology industry next year and in the future, including ways to promote the development of the domestic digital technology business community, and enhance Viet Nam's value in the global production value chain.

Other issues related to cooperation between Vietnamese digital technology enterprises and large technology corporations to bring "Make in Viet Nam" technology products to the international market were also brought to discussion at the event.
