Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung meets Apple

On December 4, 2019, in Hanoi, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung had a meeting with Mr. Rory Sexton, Apple's Vice President of Supply Chain.

 At the meeting, Mr. Rory Sexton introduced to the Minister about the development and business orientation of Apple in Vietnam. Accordingly, Apple currently has about 30 partners who are suppliers of components for Apple products in Vietnam, out of 1,200 suppliers in Asia. In the coming years, it is expected that the total amount of products that Vietnamese suppliers produce for Apple will continue to increase.

 The representative of Apple also expressed his desire to regularly meet and discuss with the Ministry of Information and Communications leaders to update Apple operation in Vietnam and get support from the Ministry.
 
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the Ministry of Information and Communications is ready to support and remove difficulties for foreign businesses operating in the field of ICT in Vietnam, including Apple. At the same time, the Minister requested that while operating in Vietnam, foreign enterprises were strictly complied with Vietnamese laws.
 
The Minister also asked Apple to create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to participate in Apple's supply chain. Vietnam has a lot of potential in this field with more than 50,000 ICT businesses and more than 1 million ICT engineers, the Minister added.
 
 Mr. Rory Sexton said that Apple is ready to meet and explore opportunities to cooperate with Vietnamese ICT businesses.
