Vietnam - Japan strengthen cooperation on information security

On September 24, 2019, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held the first meeting of Joint Coordination Committee to support the project on raising awareness and skills in protecting information security and law enforcement capacity in information security in Vietnam. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung attended the meeting.

 Ms. Nozomi Iwama, Deputy Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office, representatives of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and Japanese cybersecurity experts attended the meeting.

 At the meeting, the two sides agreed: Network security is now the most important problem in the context that countries around the world are in the process of digitizing and implementing the digital government towards the digital economy.
 
In recent years, MIC’s cybersecurity units have worked closely with the Japan’s side and shared their experiences, especially in the Project on raising awareness and skills in protecting information security and law enforcement capacity in information security in Vietnam.
 
At the meeting, the two sides were reported the Project implementation progress, exchanged ideas and solutions to occurred difficulties.
